The Plus Mentoring program is designed to help juvenile clients make safe decisions and avoid further involvement in the juvenile justice system. The Plus Mentoring team works along with the Department of Probation to provide an alternative to detention group program for high risk youth, ages 13-18 in Brooklyn, and in the Bronx.
The Plus Mentoring team is a group-based mentoring program that helps young adults transform the attitudes and behaviors that led to their involvement with the criminal justice system by developing positive and appropriate relationships and supporting them in making safe decisions in the community. The team is made up of a full-time Program Coordinator and 3 part-time Credible Messenger Mentors. Youth will come together twice weekly as a cohort of up to 16 youth, ages 13-18, with the Plus Mentoring team supporting them. The mentors will utilize the Powersource Curriculum and ROCA Rewire CBT to support the youth to examine their feelings, evaluate their own behaviors and develop strategies for change. Group will also be used for group builders, educational activities, anger reduction strategies, recreational outings, group-based community service activities, and family events to name a few. Criminalized Survivors Program: For over 30 years, the Criminalized Survivors Program has offered comprehensive clinical and legal support services to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) or other forms of gender-based violence (GBV) who have been criminalized for their efforts to survive or resist abusive partner behavior. Through our City-Wide program, we support survivors facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges in any borough. Through our Still Survivors program, a collaboration with the NYC Anti-Violence Project (AVP), we support survivors facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges in any borough, with a specific focus on LGBTQ survivors with ties to Manhattan. In addition, CSP has this position, a designated advocate/counselor serving criminalized survivors on site at the Manhattan and Brooklyn Family Justice Centers, and a Training Team that helps lead the City's whole response to criminalized survivors.
The FJC Advocate will provide direct counseling and emotional support, case management, and advocacy to criminalized survivors who seek services at the FJC(s) and serve as the resident criminalized survivor expert both at the FJC where they are stationed and within the broader network of all the City’s FJCs.

Through this dedication, the TRC aims to transform services for survivors of violent crime. Rising Ground’s TRC is designed to help victims of violent crimes overcome barriers to accessing mental health treatment, health care, and legal resources in the acute aftermath of trauma. The TRC supports recent victims of violent crime, including survivors of physical assault, sexual assault, gun shot wounds, stabbings, domestic violence and human trafficking. The Case Aide provides support and client related services within the Preventive Services Dept including “support activities” such as interviewing clients; collecting information about family situations; directly assisting children and family members in various ways, i.e. providing transportation, home visits, accompanying parents to service providers, participating in and reporting observations and findings at case conferences. Furthermore, Case Aide will carry administrative functions such as petty cash, reconciling receipts and generating reports.

Functional Family Therapist (FFT) provides evidence-based intervention for youth and their families. This high-quality, strength-focused family counseling model is designed primarily for at-risk youth who have been referred by ACS. Services are conducted in home settings and can also be provided in schools and child welfare facilities. Flexible schedule including some nights and weekends, depending on needs of the client.
The Direct Support Professional provides person centered supports based on the individual’s needs, preferences and choices. DSPs perform a wide variety of tasks and activities based on the valued outcomes of each person they work with, and reflecting the specific skills and abilities of each individual. DSPs encourage, guide and offer training to develop daily living skills, ensuring personal needs are met, promoting active engagement in the community life and ensuring health and safety. DSPs create a positive and enriching program environment for all persons supported. Direct Support Professionals are a vital member of each person’s support team. DSP’s are expected to know, understand and live the Code of Ethics.

About the Criminalize Survivors Program: For over 30 years, the STEPS Criminalize Survivors Program has offered comprehensive clinical and legal support services to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) or other forms of gender-based violence (GBV) who have been criminalize for their efforts to survive or resist abusive partner behavior. We support survivors facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges in any borough. In addition, STEPS CSP has a designated advocate/counselor serving criminalize survivors on site at the Manhattan and Brooklyn Family Justice Centers, and a Training Team that helps lead the City's whole response to criminalize survivors.
The CSP Supervisor will provide consistent, reliable, and relationally grounded supervision to at least half of the direct service ATI staff. The Supervisor will have an advanced clinical degree, ample direct practice and supervisory experience and the ability to supervise graduate students. Additionally, the Supervisor will work collaboratively to meet the administrative and reporting needs of the ATI contract. The Supervisor will also carry a small caseload of ATI clients and manage
intakes and referrals.

The goals of the Preventive case planner, within the Family Connections model, are to keep families together, while continually assessing for risk and safety issues. Through the Family Connections model they are to help strengthen families, stabilize and maintain family functioning.
Under the direction of the Social Work Supervisor, the case planner shall serve as the primary service provider. The model requires great time flexibility, as we meet with the entire family system most of the time. Therefore workers must make themselves available when the families are. The principal duties of the position include:

Rising Ground has an immediate opening(s) for a Full Time Direct Support Professional to work in one of our Work Readiness programs at our Yonkers site. The Direct Support Professional provides person centered supports based on the individual’s needs, preferences and choices. DSPs perform a wide variety of tasks and activities based on the valued outcomes of each person they work with, and reflecting the specific skills and abilities of each individual. DSPs encourage, guide and offer training to develop daily living skills, ensuring personal needs are met, promoting active engagement in the community life and ensuring health and safety. DSPs create a positive and enriching program environment for all persons supported. Direct Support Professionals are a vital member of each person’s support team. DSP’s are expected to know, understand and live the Code of Ethics.

Annual Salary
$17.00 per hour with HS Diploma/GED
$17.73 per hour with Bachelor’s Degree
