To provide instruction and supervision within a therapeutic classroom. To implement the philosophy of education as outlined in school policy. To be sensitive to the needs of a culturally diverse population.
Prepare all lesions for the Physical Education Program within the guidelines of the NYS & Biondi P.E. curriculum.
Prepare lesions adapted to elementary, middle, and high school male & female students.
Maintain, utilize and manage Physical Education Equipment & Gym Facilities.
Begin all classes with warm-up fitness and lead all classes in exercise.
Instruct all lessons by verbal and physical demonstration and engage in the activities as an official, player, scorer, facilitator and role model.
Supervise all behavior management issues with use of counseling techniques, verbal warnings, time-outs, student escorts or removal to detention with use of TCI training. Write all necessary reports.
Team teach with other P.E. Teachers to engage all students in the physical education program.
Assist in the organization of the different unit’s gym schedule.
Submit all students’ progress reports and report card grade in a timely fashion.
Attend all pertinent trainings and meetings.
Carries out other tasks that the administrators deem necessary
M. A. in Physical Education preferred
Ability to work with a diverse population
Ability to communicate and work within a therapeutic environment
