  • Overview

    To provide constructive services to adolescences 14-21 years of age that will enhance their functioning and prepare them for adulthood.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct educational, vocational and other relevant Life Skills Workshops.
    • Complete youth’s Daily Living Skills Assessment and prepare accurate reports.
    • Counsel adolescences around preparing for adulthood, building competence in the application of living independently and issues that affect their overall wellbeing.
    • Plan and participate in youth recreational events.
    • Attend FTC’s and other conferences related to young adult’s wellbeing.
    • Conducts visits to Foster Boarding Homes and other locations whereby youth may be residing. 
    • Attend Independent Living workshops and conferences.
    • Actively participate on citywide Youth committees.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree and knowledge of child welfare system.
    • Ability to establish a strong relationship with adolescents that combines warmth and humor with effective modeling of prosocial skills.
    • Job developing a plus.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential
    • Ability to work evenings and weekend hours
    • Computer proficient, knowledge of Connections.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of persons served and agency personnel
    • Current Driver’s License
