All sites are part of a groundbreaking initiative to keep youth adjudicated by family court in residential placements close to their homes, schools, families, and communities. Placements are typically 7 months and youth then spend an average between 5-12 months participating in aftercare in the community.
Bronx : Ryer Limited Secure Placement program (LSP) located in Fordham Heights, Bronx, NY: supports up to 16 mostly high school age girl and girl identifying youth.
Manida Non-Secure Placement (NSP) located in the South Bronx, NY houses 12 middle school aged boys.
The Casework Supervisor oversees the day-to-day case management activities for the assigned NSP and LSP programs, including Aftercare in LSP. The Casework Supervisor oversees the assessment, planning, family engagement, and evaluation process for case planners, family workers, and case aids, ensuring compliance with all guidelines, quality assurance standards, and performance indicators for Close to Home programs. Work includes managing the intake process, supervising assessments and service planning, facilitating the treatment teams, monitoring, and guiding referrals and discharge activities as well as the coordination of linkages with community-based support programs and services, and overseeing aftercare for LSP programs. The Casework Supervisor manages all the social service needs and ensures that all ACS, OCFS and the Courts’ mandated timeframes are met for all the youth supported within the programs. This person must provide direction, information, training, evaluation, and provide instruction to clinical and social worker related staff and other assigned staff.
