The Family Advocate/ Therapist is to provide services to enhance parenting skills, parenting practices and conflict resolution to the biological families or other discharge resource person of a youth in the family respite program.

Responsibilities

  • Provides family therapy to program youth's family, using the MTFC treatment model. This includes introducing new behavioral, coping and parenting skills and practicing these in sessions using strategic positive reinforcement and coaching interventions.
  • Participates in the development of individual treatment plans for program youth.
  • Participates in 24 hour on-call availability for program parents. Family therapist may serve as back-up to the Program Supervisor for 24/7 on-call availability
  • Attends weekly clinical team meetings.
  • Provides record keeping and documentation for all clinical activities (case documentation).
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s level in clinical field.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus.
  • Experience with a behavioral approach to treating troubled youth preferred.
  • Experience treating families, children, and adolescents.
  • Experience with the administrative components of treatment (case documentation) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a treatment team.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Program Supervisor to implement child's program; accept supervision well; be readily available for supervision; attend meetings; complete assigned paperwork.

Per diem/ flexible hours

$28.31/hr
