Registered Nurse Per-Diem - Locations: Yonkers, Bronx, So Ozone, Bensonhurst and weekend/Overnights available Bronx

The Unaccompanied Children Program provides temporary residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Working in collaboration with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, the POH program provides a safe and nurturing environment for 439 youth as well as therapeutic and educational services and other supports that youth need to achieve success through an array of strength-based and targeted interventions as well as link them with family members and/or other sponsors in the United States so they are able to move forward with their lives and thrive. 

 

About the Role

Responsible for supervising day-to-day health services activities.  Health Services provide services and support for foster care, residential and juvenile justice involved youth. Full-time morning and evening shifts are available as well as weekend and holiday per diem shifts available.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general medical care and treatment to individual supported per program, on site.
  • Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions.
  • Provide health evaluations, assessments and screenings with follow-ups.
  • Review all Pediatric guidelines for care, including immunizations and testing
  • Records physical findings based on patient’s condition.
  • Participate in clinical team and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan utilizing historical and current information
  • Conducts and assists in medical examinations of youth after incidents.
  • Provides health education to youth supported, including reproductive health education
  • On call for all triage, sick, urgent and quick coverage, questions and consult calls for assigned programs.
  • Administer Medication.  
  • Train staff.
  • Assist with home visits and community provider visits as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications

  • New York State Registered Nurse. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 5 years’ demonstrated experience in successful nursing supervisory
  • Recent Experience in pediatric nursing and/or psychiatric nursing experience preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a Per-Diem position with an hourly rate of $60.00 and in various locations: Yonkers, Bronx, South Ozone, Bensonhurst and Weekends/Overnights available Bronx

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites if required for meetings or trainings.
