About the Role

The Licensed Clinician will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and treatment services to students and their families within a middle and upper school setting.  They will become an integral part of the school community, providing both direct clinical services as well as other supports needed.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Provide school-based mental health services to Junior High School students
  • Conduct intake and orientation activities with students and family members
  • Provide direct individual and group counseling to assigned students
  • Attend SBST and in-house meetings and supervision
  • Maintain clinical records in an Electronic Health Record and ensure that all documentation is timely, thorough, and youth centered
  • Conduct home visits as needed
  • Develop a physical and mental health workshop series
  • Refer students to academic and personal support services as needed
  • Maintain a rigorous caseload of clients and provide regular and as-needed clinical services
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid NY state clinical license (LCSW, LMSW, LCAT, LMFT, LMHC)
  • Limited Permit holders considered
  • Previous clinical experience, especially in a school setting, preferred
  • Knowledge of family systems; Strong writing, oral and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently; Strong computer literacy
  • The ability to occasionally work evening and Saturday hours
  • Spanish speaking is preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, school hours and the work is within a DOE school.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.
  • Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)
