Our strong belief and commitment to diversity shows not just through our work with supported persons but is integral to the building of a strong staff that reflects the communities we serve.   About the Criminalize Survivors Program: For over 30 years, the STEPS Criminalize Survivors Program has offered comprehensive clinical and legal support services to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) or other forms of gender-based violence (GBV) who have been criminalize for their efforts to survive or resist abusive partner behavior. We support survivors facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges in any borough. In addition, STEPS CSP has a designated advocate/counselor serving criminalize survivors on site at the Manhattan and Brooklyn Family Justice Centers, and a Training Team that helps lead the City's whole response to criminalize survivors.   The CSP Supervisor will provide consistent, reliable, and relationally grounded supervision to at least half of the direct service ATI staff. The Supervisor will have an advanced clinical degree, ample direct practice and supervisory experience and the ability to supervise graduate students. Additionally, the Supervisor will work collaboratively to meet the administrative and reporting needs of the ATI contract. The Supervisor will also carry a small caseload of ATI clients and manage intakes and referrals.

Through the Family Connections model they are to help strengthen families, stabilize and maintain family functioning.   Under the direction of the Social Work Supervisor, the case planner shall serve as the primary service provider. The model requires great time flexibility, as we meet with the entire family system most of the time. Therefore workers must make themselves available when the families are. The Justice for Youth and Families (JYF) Training Coordinator provides full support to all training initiatives for staff of the JYF facilities. The Training Coordinator provides ongoing opportunities for professional development, tracking all certifications and facilitating various training for the department. They serve as the link between the JYF Department and the Training Department by working closely with the Vice President of JYF and those delivering trainings to the JYF employees. The JYF Training Coordinator will lead all training initiatives for the JYF department and directly supervise the JYF Training Specialist.

They are concerned about youth’s health needs.Under medical or nursing supervision, they may care for a youth who is ill, give first aid and dispense medication.They encourage and, as necessary, assist youth in their formal education by helping with homework and conveying a positive attitude toward learning.Through participation in maintaining clean and attractive housing conditions, they help the youth develop constructive attitudes toward work as well as pride in their living environment.   They are involved in planning and organizing leisure time activities with the children. Our strong belief and commitment to diversity shows not just through our work with supported persons, but is integral to the building of a strong staff that reflects the communities we serve.   JustUs, is a holistic, gender-responsive program for girls and lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer/transgender and gender non-conforming (LGBQ/TGNC) youth who are involved, or at high risk of involvement, in the youth justice system. The project - which is grounded in the tenets of healing-centered, anti-oppressive practice - brings together highly-skilled individual coaching; evidence-based clinical interventions; opportunities for young people to engage in group-based activities; economic empowerment skill building; a workplace pilot project; and space where young people can come together to build community. All elements of the project are intentionally designed to support young people in cultivating their leadership skills; building their self-reliance; forging healthy social relationships; developing diverse strategies to avoid engaging in criminalized behavior/activities; and greatly enhancing their educational experiences and work opportunities.   Senior Group Facilitator will provide youth-driven, healing-centered, anti-oppressive, clinical and emotional support and advocacy in a group setting to young people in the program. This is an exciting and demanding opportunity for a therapist looking to participate in the launch of a project that is designed to become a national model.
