The Travel Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination and request of the travel arrangements needed to reunify a person supported with his/her sponsor. The Travel Coordinator will also coordinate any other travel arrangements needed for the person supported during their placement at Rising Ground.  The Travel Coordinator will supervise travel staff in the program.

The Unaccompanied Children Program provides long term and transitional residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Working in collaboration with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, ORR, our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth in a Basic Shelter program located at our licensed residential facility in Yonkers, NY as well as a Transitional Foster Care program in foster homes in the Bronx, Queens and Westchester. In all programs, we provide therapeutic, medical and educational services, as well as other supports that youth need to achieve success through an array of strength-based and targeted interventions as we link them with family members and/or other sponsors in the United States.  We want all children we support to move forward with their lives and thrive.  The Case Manager is responsible for managing a caseload of 8 children who will be reunified with their sponsor in the US, safely and expeditiously.  provide weekend coverage as needed and have a flexible schedule.

Our strong belief and commitment to diversity shows not just through our work with supported persons, but is integral to the building of a strong staff that reflects the communities we serve.   The Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is a warm and welcoming community gathering place in the East Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn. It is a space where any member of the community can come for support, information and to participate in or lead activities (called “offerings). The FEC is a home-like setting, which reflects the community, and offers programming and resources that promote family well-being and empowerment. In partnership with FEC staff, families will drive the planning, development, and sustainable co-ownership of the centers. Families who participate in the programming will be encouraged to share their expertise by volunteering at the center and given meaningful opportunities to engage with neighbors and peers. The goal of the FEC is to strengthen families’ protective factors and build community connections, capacity and resilience and increase overall wellbeing.   The FEC Community Liaison is responsible for contributing to the day-to-day operation of the East Flatbush FEC including building connections with other staff members, local residents, and community partners. The Community Liaison will work in collaboration with the Full Time Community Liaison to cultivate and maintain community partnerships and collaborations with community members. The Community Liaison provides customer service and community collaboration that boost the strength-based approach of the center. Informed by the FEC protective factors, the Community Liaison will help foster and promote positive interactions for all visitors. The Community Liaison provides community information and supports and promotes all FEC offerings to local community residents and groups.

Rising Ground is headquartered in downtown Brooklyn.    Intimate Partner Violence Program - offers a variety of trauma-informed, anti-oppressive programming focused on the prevention of intimate partner violence; advocacy and healing for survivors and children impacted by abusive partner behavior; and training intended to increase awareness of the epidemic of gender-based violence. Since the program's founding in 1986, STEPS has been deliberately dedicated to engaging in work that is innovative and deeply survivor-centered and works to promote the idea that support for survivors of IPV that is not aligned with anti-oppressive, anti-racist, feminist/womanist principles tends to unintentionally mimic systems of oppression, and is ultimately, re-traumatizing and ineffective.     The Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) is seeking a skilled social worker to serve as a RAPP Coordinator at a DOE middle or high school campus. During the academic year, the RAPP Coordinator works independently within a New York City public school, providing direct services to students. The RAPP Coordinator’s role in the school includes providing education and counseling around issues of relationship abuse, gender-based violence, healthy relationships, and related topics. During the summer months, RAPP facilitates an intensive summer training program for selected middle and high school students to become RAPP Peer Leaders.

Join us in this ground-breaking initiative to provide an evidence-informed intervention called Solution Based Casework (SBC). In addition, we provide to families case management services, advocacy, referrals, assistance with childcare, housing, income support, food pantries, and medical and mental health services. The Solution Based Casework (SBC) Model prioritizes working in partnership with families, focuses on pragmatic solutions to difficult situations, and celebrates family successes.   Through the SBC Model Case planners are to help strengthen families, stabilize, and maintain family functioning, while continually assessing for risk and safety issues. Services are provided to at-risk families referred by the Administration for Children’s Services or self-referred.

Arches is designed to support high-crime neighborhoods to reduce recidivism and decrease violations among young adults, ages 16-24, who reside in the target neighborhood of Harlem, NY. The Rising Ground Arches Harlem team is composed of one Program Coordinator and 4 Credible Messenger Mentors. Together, they will deliver a cognitive behavioral curriculum to a group of up to 15 young adults twice a week in Harlem NYC. Through the group mentoring and Interactive Journaling sessions, mentors work with participants to address their attitudes, knowledge and skill in key areas including relationships and communication, responsible behavior, handling difficult feelings, and individual change planning.   The Arches team provides services to young adults who reside in Harlem NYC.

The Family Justice Centers are an initiative of the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence and are designed to reduce barriers to support faced by survivors of intimate partner violence, elder abuse and sex trafficking. STEPS is co-located at the SIFJC and partners with the Mayor's Office, the Richmond County District Attorney's Office and other community-based organizations to provide a safe and welcoming place for survivors and their children. The Senior Counselor of the Children’s Services (SIFJC) will provide therapy for children ages 0 to 17 who have been exposed to family violence. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for social justice and anti-oppressive practice, ample experience providing intake, assessment, planning and therapeutic service implementation for children and their families experiencing abuse, a desire to work collaboratively with a team of creative and committed advocates, and demonstrated experience working with children witnesses of intimate-partner violence. Rising Ground’s TRC is designed to help victims of violent crimes overcome barriers to accessing mental health treatment, health care, and legal resources in the acute aftermath of trauma. The TRC serves recent victims of violent crime, including survivors of physical assault, sexual assault, gun shot wounds, stabbings, domestic violence and human trafficking. The Trauma Recovery Center facilitates healing for survivors of trauma, violence, and loss through an innovative model that blends comprehensive care, advocacy and outreach.   The Children's Services Coordinator will be responsible for creating and providing a safe and welcoming place for trauma survivors and their children. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for social justice and anti-oppressive practice, ample experience implementing services to a wide age range of people, and a desire to work collaboratively with a team.
